Assistant Management Accountant

Hours and work arrangements

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Location: Head office – 9 Apollo Court, Koppers Way, Monkton Business Park South, Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, NE31 2ES

Proposed Start Date: TBC

Contract Type and Duration: Permanent Full Time

Work Arrangement: Initially, this role requires the individual to work on-site until they have gained confidence in managing the responsibilities, typically by the end of the probation period. After successfully completing the probation period, hybrid working options will be available with a minimum of 3 days working in the office.

Holiday Entitlement: 30 days holiday pro rata.

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000

Role description 

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated finance professional to join the eQuality Solutions Group as Group Assistant Management Accountant. What you’ll be doing

The Group Assistant Management Accountant provides a professional, reliable, and efficient service to the wider organisation, delivering accurate, timely management information, cost reduction opportunities, whilst ensuring that high levels of quality and performance are maintained.

The successful candidate will support the Group Management Accountant in managing the day-to-day operations of the finance team. This role will lead in the production of management accounts, KPI reports, quality control of data and internal business relationships.

Joining a finance team of eight, the successful applicant must be happy to undertake the administrative elements of an SME finance function as well as possessing the gravitas and expertise to undertake more strategic elements of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • VAT reconciliations and returns.
  • Quality checking of processed invoices, bank, etc.
  • Checking supplier payment runs.
  • Banking reconciliation.
  • Preparation and posting of journals.
  • Purchase ledger/sales ledger reconciliation/month end reconciliation.
  • Cashflow management and forecasting.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Weekly and monthly KPI reporting.
  • Process improvements.
  • Managing expenses and purchase card processes.
  • Team leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
  • To assist Head of Finance with a variety of projects.

Beneficial Skills / Experience:  

  • Ideally, you will be studying for your professional accountancy qualificationsand will have good working knowledge of the full management accounts process. 
  • Have worked in an acquisitive business.
  • Group consolidation experience.
  • Microsoft GP Dynamics and Business Central experience.
  • Experience of dashboard reporting and analytics, use of Power BI.

Induction

A written record will be made to identify the components of the induction and that these have been achieved by the inductee.
