The Role

With ambitious growth plans for the group, we are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and results-driven Head of Sales for our Disability Services Division to embed a culture of new business generation. With a passion for removing barriers in education, work and life and a consultative sales approach, you will need to be adept at putting the customer first and building high quality, influential relationships with decision-makers in Higher Education. Working closely alongside our CEO, Head of Operations (Disability Services) and Group Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for exceeding quarterly sales targets across the Disability Services Division.

Based from home and working in the field, you will develop, implement and execute a UK sales strategy to achieve our growth plans, leading and developing the sales team to promote new business and open up new sales channels to increase lead generation and conversion rates through effective pipeline management and sales forecasting. A key element of your role will be assisting your team to convert leads to sales with universities and colleges as well as developing the eQS offering within education and the workplace, both through private funding and schemes such as the DSA and Access to Work.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop new business acquisition strategies together with a broader sales strategy and roadmap.
  • Craft an overall strategy for the sales team aimed at new business growth.
  • Build and develop the sales team to achieve personal objectives and company targets through sales training and regular one-to-one and team meetings.
  • Prepare and manage quarterly/annual budgets together with monitoring, and reporting on team objectives.
  • Build robust and reliable monthly and quarterly sales forecasts with your team to present to the executive team.
  • Work closely with the eQS marketing manager to produce exceptional marketing campaigns that capture audience attention and highlight USPs of eQS products and services.
  • Engage with needs assessment centres, freelance assessors, universities and other relevant institutions across the UK to promote eQS products and services through virtual and face-to-face relationship building activities such as sector conferences and the CPD Revolution series.
  • Lead on tender bids for HEPs and central government equipment to ensure successful outcomes through bid-writing, developing solutions and engaging with external suppliers to strengthen the bid response.
  • Develop relationships with customers to understand their future requirements and possess the skills to work with internal teams to influence our product and services roadmap to ensure eQS offerings remain up-to-date and relevant to the market.
  • Participate in weekly management team meetings to contribute to product and service development and update the management team on sales activities.


Essential Skills and Experience

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Demonstrable track record of success, coupled with inspirational team leadership.
  • Have proven personal experience in new business and account development.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills at all business levels with effective commercial management skills including budgets, sales/contract negotiation.
  • Experience of leading a team both on-site and remotely to deliver sales targets.
  • Tenacity, drive and determination to secure sales using a consultative approach.
  • Strong skills in prospecting, building and managing a sales pipeline, needs analysis, proposal solution development, closing techniques and sales reporting.
  • Experience in a Head of Sales role or National Sales Manager role with a proven track record of achievement ready to take the next steps into sales management.
  • A valid driving licence is essential as is a suitable car for business usage.

  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks on a daily basis and handle a diverse workload.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to gain respect and form strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Good organisational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of the DSA, Education and/or Access to Work sector.
  • Experience of software sales within the education sector.
